Three out of top five runners are named "Scott" (Coincidence or Conspiracy?)
The replacement for the defunct Corn Hill 5k took place in unusually cool, dry weather
for July, indicating that The Powers That Be were smiling upon this event. They also appeared
to be smiling upon first-time Race Director Tom Gabruk who pulled off this race without a hitch.
So what's with this "Scott" thing, anyway? The Powers That Be, hanging out in Nirvanna, as is
their wont, could not be reached for comment, but even casual observers could not help
but notice that, in a field of 160 finishers, the only three named "Scott" all
finished in the top 5. Also note that the only two runners named "Jason" were in the
top six. Hmm...Whether this is divine intervention or cosmic whim cannot be determined yet,
but Cats member and attorney Bob Epstein is available to help with legal name changes for those who hope
to take a minute or two per mile off their race times.
