Taking three pixels with values of 114502, 320644 and 572678 and multiplying the value by 2 will increase contrast as well as brightness.

Increase contrast

Unlike the simplified multiplication shown in this example,
computer image editing software will keep overall brightness constant
while changinging contrast.
