Lightweight Photo Kit

I've been using Pentax cameras and lenses for years but I was never more glad of it that when I finally went digital.
The ist-D is small and light and yet produces images as good as any other 6-8 megapixel camera. Furthermore, it's
reassuringly solid, being built on a stainless steel chassis. When you carry all your gear into the field, it's
good to be able to get top quality gear that doesn't break your back.
When I'm traveling very light I carry my kit in a Tamrac Velocity 7 sling pack: I can carry it on
my back or on my chest when I have a packpack of camping gear as well. The 43mm Limited lens and Vivitar 70-210
Series 1 are always in it, and sometimes a wide angle prime or the Tamron 17-35. The MX fills in for the ist-D
when I feel like shooting film. The Gitzo Mountaineer G1127 Mk II carbon fiber tripod and a pack
of filters rounds out the kit.
