Pentax FA*28-70 f/2.8

For years I was a prime lens snob. Yes, I often used zooms, but I always believed that only a prime could give me the
ultimate level of sharpness and bokeh for critical shooting jobs. Then the Pentax FA*80-200/2.8 came into my life and forced me to eat my words.
After that it was probably only a matter of time until I broke down and purchased the Pentax 28-70/2.8 zoom.
A worthy stablemate to the legendary 80-200/2.8, it's very useful as a portrait lens
on digital, as well as being a fine general-purpose photojournalism tool. The optics are beyond reproach. Will I really
start neglecting my primes now? Only for certain kinds of work. Photojournalism type jobs and event photography often require the versatility
of a zoom lens; it's just that I can get the image quality of a good prime and have a zoom too, now! Of course, with primes you can get lenses even
faster than f/2.8. And Pentax has upped the prime lens sharpness ante, too. (Look at the next page to see how...)
